BELIEF & PRACTICE When one’s life
is touched by the ‘fire’ of Christ, it cannot be contained. It must be shared with others or it grows
cold. If you are a Christian, you are
a minister. As followers of Jesus
Christ the question is not if we
will minister, but how. Willow Creek Friends Church is committed to
supporting Christians in their ministry efforts. Whether through spiritual inventory
seminars or simply through prayer, our church family believes it our duty to
help one another serve God. We have a strong
tradition of supporting missions work at home and abroad. New Testament scripture clearly emphasizes
the importance of such outreach. We
give financial and spiritual support to Evangelical Friends Mission; we are
working to spread God’s Word. Part of
this work is promoting the peace of Christ which can never be accomplished by
inward or outward violence. Convinced
of the power of the Spirit’s conviction, Friends promote peacemaking and
non-violence. George Fox, when asked
by William Penn whether he should wear his sword, replied “Wear it as long as
thou canst.” Friends believe that
through a relationship with Christ, a changed life will result in both
changed belief and practice as God sees
fit. |
